"Help For Smart People Who Can't Stop Worrying"

Smart, creative people worry more because they have the ability to imagine all the things that could possibly go wrong! If you have read countless self-help books, talked to friends who tell you to "just let it go," or even tried to find the right therapist before, you're not alone. The problem isn't that you aren't trying hard enough - you need to learn the strategies that really work to reduce worrying and anxiety or solve the problems that weigh you down. There are effective treatments for anxiety.

Theo has been helping people cope with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, bipolar disorder and chronic health issues since 1996. He is a believer in cognitive therapy because he knows firsthand the relief that it can bring! Given his background working with people who have chronic pain and a history of personal injuries, Theo is also accepting new patients who are dealing with ongoing medical legal concerns/ICBC. 

Theo also has a special interest in helping people living with bipolar disorder learn the strategies that can help reduce stress and manage patterns that are associated emotional high and lows.

Theo is also an Adjunct Professor, Department of Psychology, University of British Columbia and CACBT-certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. In addition to his work at Vancouver Anxiety Centre, Theo also works at the St. Paul’s Chronic Pain Program. Previously, Theo was the Professional Practice Leader for Psychology at Vancouver Coastal Health and the Director of Clinical Training.
